Once your request is agreed, you will receive our XML Integration Guidelines including all the relevant technical information, schemas for development and an authorisation code giving you to access to our systems. Once we are satisfied your development is working successfully, we will migrate your integration from the test environment to our live system.

We share our data so you can work closer with your customers

We send out over 1,000 free data files every day each containing over 30,000 products.

You can use this data a number of ways – you can import it into internal systems for quoting and purchasing, use it for price, product availability or product classification information on your websites.

What data is delivered and how to request a data pack?

Data packs are delivered either by email in a simple flat file format (.TSV) - using TAB characters for field separation - or by FTP to a server address. You choose when you set the service up by going to ‘InTouch Settings’ followed by ‘Datapack Services’ on our website. Usually, datapacks arrive between 3 and 6am.

All pricing contained within these files are specific to your account and match pricing displayed in InTouch, or communicated to you via your account manager.

Part codes, pricing and availability information and basic product classification information from CNET (including family, class and sub-class) are all provided.

How do I get technical information and pictures of products?

As we do not provide product information and pictures within the data pack you will need to source these elements yourself. The quickest and easiest way is to link to a pre-produced library of images and specifications. Providers include:

What conditions are there?

“Data file" refers to a file or files that are transferred from Tech Data to the Reseller as part of Tech Data’s Product Data Services. This free service is only available to Tech Data accounts who place a reasonable and consistent level of business with us (specified as £8,000 per quarter) and accounts who have a credit limit.

Provision of the data file will automatically cease for customers who do not regularly meet the above requirements with Tech Data.

While every effort is made, Tech Data provides no warranties or guarantees regarding the reliability and accuracy of the data within the data file. Information contained within the data file (specifically, but not limited to pricing and stock availability) are calculated from the consolidation of the previous working day’s activities and are provided on the understanding that the Reseller will obtain real-time confirmation of the information, especially before making a purchase contract.

The Reseller may not:

• Transfer or display the data file (or parts of) to third parties, unless the third party is an end-user customer of the Reseller and the data file is only being used in the course of the supply of products from the Reseller to the end user.
• Process the data file in conjunction with data files from other sources and publish the results to any third parties.
• Use the data file in connection with other third-party companies, for example within a webstore system, without the express permission of Tech Data.

Tech Data reserves the right to withhold the provision of the data file to specific Resellers for any reason. Tech Data reserves the right to fully withdraw from providing the data file at any time and without notice.

Tech Data can provide price & stock information and real-time pricing services for online pricing tools and quotation software systems, there are a number of these available to the reseller community but below we explain how Tech Data can integrate with some of those we are most regularly asked about.

If you are signed up for the relevant service, IT Dealer uses our data pack to populate it's online price and availability information system with your own company's specific Tech Data pricing.

Tech Data can deliver your own price file (known as a data pack) directly to IT Dealer's specified FTP server on a daily basis. Prior to completing your online data pack request, you will need to obtain the FTP server details (server address, username, password and filename (if required)) from IT Dealer. IT Dealer also offer a real-time price and availability check within their 'My Price' service. To activate this please contact IT Dealer directly. Please note this service does not require any additional information or access codes from Tech Data.

Quosal is a third party software tool for quote and proposal preparation and management. Quosal automates the quote to order process by giving you the ability to import supplier price feeds to create quotations in-house from supplier’s portfolios uploaded into your Quosal system.

Tech Data can deliver your own price file (known as a data pack) directly to your specified FTP server or email address on a daily basis, you will then need to import this directly into Quosal.

In addition, Quosal can also run real-time price & availability requests on specific products on demand, if required, using a free of charge XML service from Tech Data. To set up this service you simply add your Tech Data account number and a Tech Data specified authorisation code into the relevant preferences section within Quosal. To request an authorization code to access this service via Quosal, please send an email to [email protected] requesting an authorization code for Tech Data's XML Online Check service for Quosal; you will need to include your Tech Data account number and the IP address from where you will be sending this request from.

Please note Tech Data is not currently able to receive orders directly from Quosal.

QuoteWerks is a third party quotation software system which, amongst other things, can import supplier price feeds offering you the ability to create quotations in-house from suppliers portfolio's uploaded into your installed QuoteWerks system.

Tech Data can deliver your own price file (known as a data pack) directly to your specified FTP server or email address on a daily basis, you will then need to import this directly into QuoteWerks.
